John Walsh, 85, Fall River
John T. Walsh, 85, of Fall River, passed away on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison.
John was born on Oct. 29, 1933, in Waukesha, the son of Charles and Jannet (Smith) Walsh. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School and proudly served his county in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On April 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Carolyn “Carrie” Warmke at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Doylestown, where he was an active member and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. A lifelong farmer in the Lost Lake area, John also butchered livestock for area farmers and was a charter member of the Fall River VFW. He loved his family dearly, enjoyed traveling with Carrie and lived a very full life.
John is survived by his seven children, Susan (Doran) Jorgenson of Stoughton, Timothy (Mary Zabel) Walsh of Milford, Michael (Rosa) Walsh of Fall River, Terese (Mark) Hepp of New Hope, Minnesota, Nancy (Mike) Albrecht of North Sioux City, South Dakota, Joelyn (Michael) Slowiak of Kiel and Mary (John) Bushaw of Randolph; 26 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with one more on the way; sister, Patricia Tyson of Jackson, Michigan; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn; two grandchildren; two sons-in-law, John Ebert and Dennis Schoup; sister, Josephine Walsh and other relatives.
A memorial gathering for John will be held on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Doylestown, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. A rosary service will take place at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Fr. Garrett Kau as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Lost Lake, at a later date.
