MOHAVE VALLEY — Mohave Valley Irrigation and Drainage District board members will consider approval of requirements for agricultural water entitlement at their regularly scheduled meeting.
Resolution 2018-02, the agriculture water entitlement resolution, is continued from meetings in June and July. Board members worked to clarify language and requirements for the entitlement, differentiating between new agricultural entitlements, which happen infrequently, and agricultural water entitlement transfers that occur routinely and which the board says have been used in practice but were not codified prior to this resolution.
Members also will consider possible action to take back a water entitlement portion of Contract 2008-06C-A on a parcel of land described as T18N, R22W, Section 27 held by John Kai, Jr., MVIDD director district 1, for lack of beneficial use.
Members also will discuss and possibly take action to approve the water order for calendar year 2019 and to ratify a Bureau of Reclamation grant application for small-scale water efficiency projects to establish phase 2 of a water measurement program.
In his manager’s report, Mark Clark will present district water use and the BuRec Lower Colorado Water Supply report, as well as a report on intentional created surplus in Arizona.
The Irrigation and Drainage District board meets at 4 p.m. today at Mohave Valley Fire Department, 1451 Willow Drive. MVIDD board meetings are open to the public.
