Dayton veterans celebrate restoration of Wall of Honor
Most gatherings at the Dayton Wall of Honor are somber and reflective in nature, but Monday’s assembly was a joyous occasion as the city of Dayton and energy partners Entergy celebrated the completion of significant repairs to the monument area.
Just one week before the nation pauses to remember war dead, it seemed fitting for the ceremony.
“We were able to give around $7,700 to cover the costs of refurbishing the wall,” said Pam Williams, Entergy customer service manager.
Williams said the grant came under this grant cycle by the company following a request from city leaders for help.
