Kearney airport flights set to resume following storm damage
KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) — Some commercial flights from the Kearney airport that had been canceled in the wake of storm damage to airport equipment are now set to resume.
The Kearney Hub reports that United Express flights from Kearney Regional Airport to Denver are set to resume Thursday afternoon.
Those flights had been canceled indefinitely after weather equipment was damaged Monday night in a powerful storm that dropped large hail on the area. Airport officials say technicians from Grand Island were able to repair the Federal Aviation Administration’ Automated Weather Observation System, which provides weather information to flight crews for plane landings and takeoffs.
