Snow Is Falling: Storm Closings And Cancellations

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Friday for Luzerne, Lackawanna and Wyoming counties. The National Weather Service predicts total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, and ice accumulations of up to two-tenths of an inch. Following is a list of storm-related closings and cancellations. Check back for updates. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph on Interstates 80 and 81 throughout Luzerne County, as well as the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the Lehigh Valley interchange. Wilkes University: No evening classes, campus closes at 3 p.m.; Jake Woods lecture canceled. King’s College: No evening classes, campus closes at 3 p.m. The Osterhout Free Library closed at 2 p.m. Back Mountain Memorial Library: Closes at 4:30 p.m., according to the library’s Facebook page. Kingston has declared a parking ban for Friday. Parking will be prohibited on the even-numbered side of streets between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday. Kingston police will enforce the snow parking regulations.
