NEW YORK (AP) — Washington Nationals slugger Bryce Harper is the second seed at his home ballpark for Monday night’s Home Run Derby. Harper will take on Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman in an all-NL East matchup in the first round. Harper has 22 homers this season, while Freeman is the top NL vote-getter for Tuesday night’s All-Star Game at Nationals Park.
MOSCOW (AP) — Croatia will play France in the World Cup final on Sunday. Croatia advanced to its first World Cup title game with a 2-1 win over England in extra time in Moscow. England, which was trying to reach the World Cup final for the first time since winning the title on home soil in 1966, will play Belgium in Saturday’s third place game in St. Petersburg.
