BRITISH AMERICAN MEMORIAL

A memorial honoring fallen soldiers from the U.S. and Britain is being dedicated this month, and the venue couldn’t be more ironic: Boston’s historic Old North Church, where the American Revolution pitting rebellious colonists against English troops basically began. “It’s the one place in Boston where you wouldn’t expect this to happen,” a British organizer says. — PROVIDENCE TEACHERS CONTRACT: The Providence Teachers Union has reached a tentative contract agreement with the city that includes pay raises and more professional development.

— MENTAL HEALTH HELP CENTER: Rhode Island is getting its first triage and call center for mental health and substance abuse disorders. SENT.

— HIGHWAY SHOOTING: Rhode Island State Police have retrofitted cruisers with partitions a year after a man stole a police vehicle and set off a chain of events that lead to a fatal shooting on Interstate 95. SENT.

— MOTORCYCLE GANGS: A grand jury has indicted 41 of the 61 people arrested in the spring following a state police investigation into alleged drug and gun dealing by a motorcycle gang. SENT.
