Speedway Death Ruled Accidental
FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) _ The death of a pit crew chief during a stock car race at the Minnesota State Fair on Labor Day was accidental, according to the American Speed Association and fair police, who investigated the mishap.
Chris Bradley of Adam Petty’s Sprint Spree Race Team was working under the race car during a stop in the Miller Lite 300 when a jack was accidentally released. Petty hit the accelerator and Bradley was pinned under the car.
He was declared dead two hours later in a hospital.
