Stamford Model Railroad Club announces holiday open house
STAMFORD — The Stamford Model Railroad Club’s annual holiday open house will be the two Saturdays after Thanksgiving: Nov. 24 and Dec. 1.
The open house will feature the 79-year-old club’s 150’ x 50’ 0-Scale operating model train layout which is one of the largest on the East Coast. Highly detailed passenger and freight trains run through equally detailed city and countryside; as always the colorful Circus and Holiday trains are crowd favorites.
The train exhibit is located in the basement of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 628 Main St., Stamford, CT (exit 8 off I-95); entrance is on Grove Street. Hours both days are 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. (Closed between 5 and 7 p.m.) Admission is five dollars for adults and four dollars for children. Children under four get in for free.
