Man’s Lost Wedding Ring Found in Hay
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) _ When Mark Axler realized he had lost his wedding ring on a visit to a farm with his family in October, he said he feared chances of recovering the gold band inscribed with his name and wedding date were like ``finding a needle in a haystack.″
Pictures his sister-in-law, Marie Axler, of Doylestown, had taken showed the ring on his finger during a hayride at the Merrymead Farm in Worcester. But she called the farm and workers had not found a ring. Then it turned up last week as workers emptied the hayride wagons for the season, farm co-owner Scott Rothenberger said.
Marie Axler got a call from the farm, and she and Axler’s wife, Nancy, surprised Axler with the ring at his daughter’s fourth birthday party last weekend. ``I couldn’t believe it was found at all. The odds were clearly against me,″ Axler said.
