Fairland bands to present Christmas concert

PROCTORVILLE — Sunday afternoon will bring a chance for you to get into the holiday spirit by enjoying some Christmas music by budding musicians and donating canned goods to help local families in need.

The Fairland High School and Fairland Middle School bands, under the direction of Keith Carper, will present a Christmas Concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, in the gymnasium at Fairland High School.The concert will feature the Sixth-Grade Beginning Band; Seventh-and-Eighth-Grade Combined Band; and the High School Concert Band.

Traditional Christmas music including “Silent Night,” “The Christmas Song,” “Jingle Bells,” “Up on the Housetop,” Themes from the “Nutcracker,” and “Sleigh Ride” will be presented by all of the groups.There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend. Canned food donations for a local food bank are not required, but will be accepted at the door.
