Man Arrested in Pa. in Maryland Murder
MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) _ A 22-year-old man was charged Wednesday with murdering his roommate in Maryland last year.
John Henry Murphy, 22, was arrested after Maryland authorities obtained a warrant charging him with homicide in the death of Christopher Giese, 20, in May 1990.
Giese and Murphy were roomates in Aberdeen, Md. The victim’s body was found in a stream about a half mile from their home. Giese had been shot twice with a .22-caliber rifle, police said.
Murphy had been living in Millersville, about 50 miles north, for about 11 months, according to Officer Robert Farneth of the Millersville police department.
Maryland authorities questioned him Tuesday night and returned to Maryland to obtain a warrant, he said. Murphy surrendered at the Millersville police station Wednesday morning, he said.
