Erpenbach leading in the 27th Senate District
Democratic incumbent Jon Erpenbach of Middleton will retain his seat in the 27th state senate district. Erpenbach was leading Republican newcomer Casey Helbach with just over 68 percent of the vote to Helbach’s almost 33 percent as of press time, according to the Associated Press election results.
Erpenbach was first elected to the Wisconsin State Senate in 1998 and has held that seat ever since. Erpenbach currently serves on state assignments including finance, joint finance, health and human services, sporting heritage, mining and forestry, workforce development, military affairs, senior issues, and the joint survey on retirement systems.
The 27th state Senate district is located in southern Wisconsin and is composed of parts of Dane, Green, Iowa, Sauk and Columbia counties, including communities such as Baraboo, Portage, Sauk City, Prairie du Sac, Waunakee, Middleton, Mazomanie, Cross Plains and Monticello.
