Family room fire damages Rehm Drive home
A fire in the back family room damaged a Rehm Drive home, the Fort Wayne Fire Department said this afternoon. No one was injured.
Firefighters were called about 1:10 p.m. to the one-story home in the 2100 block of Rehm, and found the back of the home was on fire, the Fort Wayne Fire Department said in a statement.
The first engine to arrive pulled a hand line for the fire attack and searched the home for occupants and animals; other units arrived and helped put out the fire, which was under control within 14 minutes.
The homeowner was in the back yard when he saw smoke coming from his house and called 911, the statement said.
Firefighters were assisted by Fort Wayne police, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Northern Indiana Public Service Co. and Neighborhood Code.
