San Antonio Rampage beat Texas Stars for fifth straight win

The San Antonio Rampage won their fifth consecutive game, beating the Texas Stars 4-3 on Saturday at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

The Rampage are 8-12-0-0 after starting 3-12-0-0.

Adam Musil, Nolan Stevens, Tyler Wotherspoon and Austin Poganski scored for San Antonio to build a 4-2 lead heading into the final period.

The Stars held a 43-27 advantage in shots for the match but could not draw even in the third period, scoring only on a goal from Eric Condra with about six minutes remaining. Condra also scored in the first period, while Justin Dowling tallied in the second period for Texas.

Poganski had two assists for San Antonio, as did Jordan Nolan and Mitch Reinke. Rampage goalie Ville Husso made 40 saves.

The Rampage will look to finish a sweep of the Stars when the teams meet for the third time in three days at 3 p.m. Sunday in the AT&T Center.
