HUMAN REMAINS UNEARTHED IN SEPTIC TANK IN FLORIDA HOME

A homeowner having problems with a septic system unearthed an unexpected find when investigating the cause: human remains. The remains were found by a septic repair company doing repairs at the Newberry, Florida house on Monday. A death investigation is underway. The current homeowner is not being investigated.

INSTEAD OF LOBSTER, FLORIDA FISHERMAN FIND HUMAN REMAINS

Instead of finding crustaceans, a couple diving for lobster under a Florida bridge found human bones. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said Monday that a man and woman were diving for lobster under the Card Sound Bridge that connects mainland Florida with the Florida Keys when they spotted a skull and several other bones.

DOLPHIN'S LANDRY INVESTIGATED FOR POSSIBLE BATTERY

Authorities are investigating Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry for possible domestic battery, But the player's girlfriend calls the allegation a fabrication. A spokesman for the Broward County State Attorney's office said Monday in an email the allegations were under review and no decision has been made on whether Landry will be charged.

EX-LAWMAKER ASKS JUDGE TO TOSS FRAUD VERDICT

Former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown has asked a federal judge to reverse the verdict of a jury who found her guilty of using funds from a purported children's educational charity as a personal slush fund. Brown was convicted of taking money raised for the One Door for Education Foundation and lying on her taxes and congressional financial disclosure forms

WITNESSES SAY SOUTH FLORIDA GUNMAN KILLED MAN WHO PROTESTED ANTI-GAY SLURS

Investigators say a Florida gunman fatally shot a man who had defended his friends against the gunman's homophobic slurs. Nelson Hernandez Mena was ordered held without bail at the Palm Beach County jail on a first-degree murder charge during a court appearance Monday.
