Giants Make Formal Offer to Bonds
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ The San Francisco Giants have made a formal offer to re-sign Barry Bonds, and are awaiting a reply from agent Scott Boras.
The offer to the free-agent outfielder was revealed Thursday during a conference call with general manager Brian Sabean and assistant general manager Ned Colletti. They did not release details of the proposal.
Boras expects Bonds, who hit a record 73 homers this year, to get a five-year deal worth at least $100 million.
