ROANOKE, Va. (AP) _ Katie Feenstra scored 14 of her 15 points in the second half Saturday as top-seeded Liberty pulled away and beat Coastal Carolina 57-33 to win its sixth straight Big South Conference title.

The Lady Flames (23-7) won their 13th consecutive game behind the 6-foot-8 freshman, who was at least seven inches taller than every player used by the seventh-seeded Lady Chanticleers (11-18).

After getting just one point from Feenstra in the first half, when she was 0-for-5 from the field, Liberty pounded the ball inside to her at almost every opportunity early in the second half, and she responded.

Feenstra scored the Lady Flames’ first 12 points after the break, and the last four sparked an 11-0 run that gave the Lady Flames a 43-28 lead with 7:10 left. It was their biggest lead to that point, and finally gave the heavy favorites the momentum they used to put away Coastal Carolina.

The Lady Chanticleers, who reached the championship game with two-point victories against No. 2 seed Elon and No. 6 Winthrop, faded the rest of the way, scoring just five more points and shooting 10-for-58 overall.

Nikki Reddick, who averaged 28 points in leading Coastal Carolina through the first two rounds, finished 4-for-20 and had 13 points. Crystal Brown added 12 points on 2-for-16 shooting.

Liberty, which had won its regular season meetings with the Lady Chanticleers by 21 and 29 points, also got 12 points from Kristal Tharp.

The appearance was the third for Coastal Carolina in the Big South championship game.
