KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Big 12 player of the year Stacey Dales scored 23 points Wednesday as No. 4 Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State 87-56.

The Sooners (25-3) wasted little time showing why they are the tournament's top seed, racing to leads of 8-0, 19-3 and 32-6 on the way to a 49-21 halftime lead.

After Oklahoma State (16-15) hit two quick baskets to stop a 13-point Sooner run, Dales followed with a basket inside and Dionnah Jackson scored 11 straight points to stretch the lead to 45-10.

The second half was more of the same as the Sooners twice built leads of 39 points.

Jackson and Dales each scored 23 points. Shelby Hutchens led the Cowgirls with 12 points.

The Sooners threatened the tournament record for margin of victory, Iowa State's 37-point victory over Nebraska in the second round two years ago.
