Business roundups: Big City Wings headed to Kingwood; Deerbrook Mall welcomes two stores

December 28, 2018

Big City Wings is about to open its seventh branch in Kingwood at 1522 Kingwood Drive, the former address of Ninfa’s Mexican Restaurant and Tularosa Southwestern Grill. The Houston-based eatery is known for serving wings, burgers, desserts and beverages while playing sports matches on big-screen televisions.

If not dining in, customers can also get their orders to go, delivered or catered.

The place is aiming for an end-of-January opening date, said Sam Elsaadi, the director of operations of Big City Wings. He said he chose this location because of the community’s support and to expand upon the success of the Atascocita spot.

Maza Grill near the airport

Per co-owner Saleen Khan, the South Asian halal restaurant has been in the neighborhood for a month now and business is well. On top of local staples — chicken tenders, butterfly shrimps and cheeseburger — Maza hosts Pakistani and Indian specialities such as the seekh kebab, cholay (stewed chickpeas) and lassi.

Maza is located at 15655 John F Kennedy Blvd., Suite L, Houston. To-go orders can be made at 281-741-2571. The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.

New stores in Deerbrook Mall

Two new additions are coming to the shopping destination at 20131 US-59, Humble. The first is PLAYLive Nation, a gaming lounge where visitors can play the newest games at a small fee and socialize. According to a representative, this branch will open in the next week.

The second is Grand Ave, an off-price department store located near Macy’s. It has been opened for a month. Here shoppers can buy a variety of home-decor items, clothes and souvenirs.
