Kingwood Medical announces new CEO as Stephenson retires

John Corbeil, chief operating officer for Hospital Corporation of America’s Medical City Fort Worth will be the new CEO of Kingwood Medical Center on Jan. 14 as Melinda Stephenson retires.

Stephenson joined Kingwood Medical Center back in July 2009.

Corbeil has been with Medical City Fort Worth since March 2016 and has successfully led operational and business development efforts across multiple service lines.

Corbeil has been with the HCA North Texas/ Medical City Healthcare Division for six years and has held several roles including Associate Chief Operating Officer at Medical City Dallas, Assistant Administrator at Medical City Fort Worth and Administrative Fellow at the HCA North Texas Division office.

“John is dedicated to patient care and has the ability to develop positive relationships with employees and physicians,” said HCA Houston Healthcare President Troy Villarreal. “He will be a valuable leader at Kingwood Medical Center, and we are happy he has decided to join us.”
