Man arrested on drug charges following traffic stop
A Rochester man was arrested Sunday night after Rochester Police allegedly found drugs in his car following a traffic stop.
Chad Michael Loomis, 29, may be facing felony charges of fifth- and third-degree degree controlled substance crime as well as a number of misdemeanor traffic charges.
Rochester Police stopped Loomis’ car around 7 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of 15th Avenue Southeast for a license plate obstruction, according to Capt. Casey Moilanen. Loomis reportedly did not have proof of insurance with him and had prior convictions of the same charge, Moilanen said.
Loomis allegedly was acting suspicious when he was asked to step out of his car and police located around 5.5 grams of methamphetamine as well as less than a gram of marijuana in the car, Moilanen said.
