Man dragged woman into vacant Cleveland building, choked her unconscious, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 22-year-old man attacked a woman, dragged her into a vacant building and left her partially nude after he choked her unconscious.

Lajuan Bebee, 22, is charged with kidnapping. He is not in police custody and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The incident happened bout 8 p.m. July 5 at a vacant home in the 2500 block of Bundy Drive, north of Woodland Avenue in the city’s Central neighborhood.

Bebee dragged the 18-year-old woman into the vacant home and punched her several times, court records say.

He choked her until she blacked out, according to court records. When she woke up, her sundress was around her neck and her underwear was gone, court records say.

Investigators wrote in court records that they are investigating the possibility that the woman was raped.

The woman was taken to MetroHealth for treatment and a sexual assault examination. Investigators wrote in court records that they were awaiting the results of the rape kit examination.
