NEW YORK (AP) _ Stocks that were moving substantially or trading heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market.


Chicago Bridge & Iron Co., up $1.99 to close at $22.30.

The engineering and construction firm said it delayed its third-quarter earnings report while an audit committee looks into alleged accounting improprieties.

Valero Energy Corp., up $5.74 to close at $105.24.

The oil producer said its third-quarter profit doubled and that Bill Greehey will step down as chief executive officer at year-end while remaining chairman.

Nam Tai Electronics Inc., down $1.50 to close at $22.65.

The electronics manufacturer posted a lower quarterly profit and said one of its units could be hurt by intensified competition.


Apple Computer Inc., up $3.12 to close at $57.59.

The company said more than a million videos have been downloaded through its iTunes service since mid-October.

Cumulus Media Inc., up $1.22 to close at $12.16.

The radio-station operator is joining a group of investors to acquire privately held Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff Co.’s radio business for about $1.2 billion.

Brightpoint Inc., up $2.47 to close at $21.59.

The wireless phone distributor sees its third-quarter earnings ahead of Wall Street targets.
