Reports: Disney pushes back Greenwich studio premiere
Walt Disney has pushed back the release date to Christmas for the Blue Sky Studios animated feature “Spies in Disguise,” after Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox and its Blue Sky house in Greenwich which had originally planned on a September premiere.
On Tuesday, Burbank, Calif.-based Disney updated its target theatrical release schedule through 2027, according to Deadline and other publications, disclosing plans for three new films in the “Star Wars” pantheon and pegging to 2021 the first of four “Avatar” sequels that will screen every other year.
The Disney-Marvel “Avengers: Endgame” has grossed more than $2.2 billion in two weeks, with “Toy Story 4” the next potential blockbuster set for a June 21 release.
