n The ninth annual Rockin Christmas Celebration will take place today at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon. There will be big Trans-Siberian Orchestra-style instrumentals and fun sing-alongs and a massive light show with thousands of beams. The performances at Rocky Mountain Ministries, 845 Hyde Ave. in Pocatello, are free.
n Today, the Portneuf Sangha and Meditation Center, 424 W. Lewis St. in Pocatello, will view two talks on the topic of “Right View” by Jack Kornfield and Thich Nhat Hanh. There will be chanting practice from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. and a 30-minute meditation period at 10 a.m., followed by the talk and a discussion Light refreshments will be served. n Club Charleys, 331 E. Center St. in Pocatello, will host Christmas Drag Brunch today. Doors open at 11 a.m., with food, mimosas and a bloody mary bar. Brunch and a show for only $5.
n Pocatello Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will host the Festival of Lights 2018 holiday celebration at 4 p.m. today at 309 N. Garfield Ave. in Pocatello. This annual event celebrates the winter season and all the traditions that converge during our shortest December days.
n Carols at the Colonial will take place at 5 p.m. today at the Colonial Theater, 498 A St. in Idaho Falls. Join us for an evening sing-along of traditional Christmas carols and more modern favorites as well. This event is free and family friendly.
n The annual Messiah Sing-In will be held at the Jensen Grand Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center on at 7 p.m. today. Those of all faiths and backgrounds are invited to participate. Come and listen or take part in the singing. Admission is free, but canned goods and cash are appreciated to support the ongoing holiday Idaho Foodbank drive.

n The city of Pocatello will host a retirement party for long-time city employee Dennis Payne at 1 p.m. Monday at the Parks and Recreation shop, 306 W. Pine St. The public is invited to attend.
n Southeastern Idaho Public Health will be holding a fluoride varnish clinic for children of all ages, along with a visit from Santa and holiday crafts from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at 1901 Alvin Ricken Drive in Pocatello. Fluoride varnish is covered by most insurance plans, so bring your insurance card with you to the clinic. No one will be denied services because of inability to pay. n The Pocatello Human Relations Advisory Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Iwamizawa Conference Room at Pocatello City Hall.
n You’re invited to a holiday bash and ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday at Comprehensive Care Clinics, 3302 Valencia Drive in Idaho Falls. The Female Veterans Memorial Unveiling Ceremony will be at 5 p.m., followed by the ribbon-cutting at 5:45 p.m. and the open house from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be food, fun and live entertainment — including visits from specials guests from the North Pole.
