WVC SOCCER ROUNDUP: Valley West Shuts Out Coughlin

At Valley West, the Spartans got goals from five different players (Tyler Gilispie, Badu Jallow, Nate Naugle, Saquon Portee, A.J. Jallow) in a 5-0 win over Coughlin in WVC boys soccer Friday.

Chris Stoodley earned the shutout in goal, and Ryan Stevens had two assists, while Dan Polachek had one.

At Coughlin, Esa Mendola broke a scoreless tie in the first minute of overtime, leading the Crusaders to a 1-0 win over Valley West.

Courtney Wartella made nine saves to earn the shutout for Coughlin, outdueling Valley West’s Emma Grimes, who also made saves.
