Fire departments searching river for possible car

May 6, 2019

DIXON – Emergency responders are searching the river along White Oak Lane for a possible car that drove into the water.

A 911 call was made around 2:50 p.m. today reporting that a car was driven into the river on White Oak Lane near St. Marys Cement Plant; tire tracks were found but not a vehicle, Dixon Fire Chief Tim Shipman said.

Witnesses said they thought the car was occupied but that has yet to be verified, Shipman said.

White Oak Lane was closed briefly but is back open.
