Tariffs could affect propane supply and demand

September 27, 2018

NORFOLK - Recent trade tariffs from China could have an impact on propane prices.

The director of propane marketing for CHS Dennis St. Aubin tells News Talk WJAG the U.S. is the world’s greatest producer of propane, and 50% of the production is exported.

St. Aubin says there’s a lot of uncertainty now on the outcome from the tariffs, and they just want producers to be prepared for any situation.

“What were really concentrating on is how we supply our producers in our domestic use. So were just making certain we have the supply and the terminals that we need to, to prepare for that demand” St. Aubin said.

He says he encourages producers to have their home inventories full and ready to go for the fall and winter months.
