Padres’ Al Martin Ejected

June 11, 2000

SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Al Martin of the San Diego Padres was ejected for arguing a called third strike in the second inning of Saturday night’s game against the Houston Astros.

Martin argued with umpire Ted Barrett, walked away and then said something else before he was ejected. A replay appeared to show that the pitch from Scott Elarton was just outside.

Martin doubled in the first and was aboard for Bret Boone’s grand slam.
