England gives Watson 1st start vs South Africa
LONDON (AP) — Anthony Watson will make his first start for England in Saturday’s test match against South Africa at Twickenham, replacing injured winger Semesa Rokoduguni in the only change from the team that lost to New Zealand.
The 20-year-old Watson’s best position is at fullback but he will start on the wing, with Marland Yarde taking his place among the substitutes.
Hooker Dylan Hartley and lock Courtney Lawes have passed concussion tests and were included in the starting lineup.
England was beaten 24-21 by the All Blacks on Saturday and is on a run of four straight defeats. It has not beaten the Springboks in 11 matches stretching back to 2006.
