GA basketball defeated by Holy Child
Francesca Sileo scored a team-high 32 points, including nine 3-pointers, in Greenwich Academy’s 64-55 loss to School of the Holy Child in an FAA basketball game held Friday in Rye, N.Y.
Sileo, a junior guard, scored 20 first-half points. She made six of her career-high nine 3-pointers during the opening half for GA (0-3).
Senior forward Olivia Davis added 17 points, 13 of which came during the first half, to help pace Greenwich Academy. Davis converted all six of her free throw attempts for the Gators, who received three points from Josephine Genereaux and two points apiece from Caroline Schmitz and Sophia Giannuzzi. Junior forward Christina Maldonado helped pace GA’s defensive effort.
Sparked by Sileo, Greenwich Academy scored 35 first-half points. Up next for Greenwich Academy is a home game against FAA rival Sacred Heart Greenwich Wednesday at 4 p.m.
