REALTOR OF THE WEEK Cook helps clients find homes that ‘check all boxes’
Spring is here, and in the real estate industry, that means more homes are on the market and more buyers are looking.
“I encourage my clients to not settle for a house they think will do. There are so many homes on the market today, that I believe there is a home that checks all or most of a client’s boxes, and people can find their dream home,” said Cindy Cook, a Realtor with Beth Wolff Realtors Real Living.
So, it goes without saying that this is a great time to buy. It is also a good time to sell, as people are moving to Houston and surrounding areas this time of year, to ensure they will be settled by the time school starts in the fall.
Cook is a native Houstonian and knows the city extremely well. Her real estate license says Texas, and she goes wherever her clients are interested. However, if she had to pick a focus area, it would be southwest Houston, which is her home territory.
Prior to real estate, Cook worked for Houston ISD. She taught sixth grade English, was a cheer coach and Magnet coordinator.
“My work and experience at HISD are an advantage as I am well versed in everything HISD. So, I can guide my clients to the different schools, the top schools, which they appreciate,” Cook said.
Cook had always been interested in real estate. When many changes began in her professional life, she decided to make a change herself, and moved into real estate.
“I hear teachers make great real estate agents, for many reasons, such as their patience, working with a diverse population, organization and planning skills, but most of all, because we have been trained to listen to the needs of our students, and solve problems,” Cook said.
Cook, an award-winning Realtor, is known for her listening and communication skills as well as being friendly, honest, optimistic, upbeat, always available to her clients, and going above and beyond for her clients. Most of all, she is a sincere people person.
“I love people, and I love Houston. I love being able to show people new neighborhoods and/or tell them about Houston. I get excited for my clients who are looking to move to Houston or a new area,” Cook said.
