Unannounced bedroom visit leads to trespassing charges for Havasu man

April 16, 2019

A Lake Havasu City woman woke up to find a man in her bedroom.

According to a police report, a woman told officers she was asleep around 3 a.m. on April 6 when she heard a noise that she thought came from her upstairs neighbor. She got up to look out of her sliding glass door, which is directly next to her bed. When she got up, she saw Ryan Patrick McBride, 39, of Havasu, standing near the door. According to the police report, McBride kept saying “it was all bad,” and when he saw her, he pushed the door open and pushed past her.

Police say McBride and the woman are acquaintances, and that he told officers he came to the home to pick up his cell phone. The woman said she didn’t know he was coming over. Officers said McBride’s cell phone was never located at the apartment. McBride was booked into Lake Havasu City Jail on a felony charge of criminal trespassing and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
