Dos Anjos beats Pettis, takes lightweight title at UFC 185
DALLAS (AP) — Brazil’s Rafael dos Anjos won the lightweight championship belt at UFC 185 on Saturday night, winning a unanimous decision over Anthony Pettis.
Dos Anjos was the second foreign fighter to win a belt from a champion from the United States. All three judges scored the fight 50-25.
Undefeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk of Poland scored a second-round technical knockout of Carla Esparza to take the women’s strawweight championship.
Johny Hendricks won a unanimous decision over Matt Brown in returning to the site where he won the welterweight championship belt last March. Hendricks (17-3) was in his first bout since losing the rematch to Robbie Lawler on a split decision in December.
