Softball: Humble ISD softball roundup

The Distirct 22-6A race is starting to heat up.

Six teams are fighting for four spots with three weeks remaining in the district play.

Atascocita, Summer Creek battle for 3rd

Last week, Summer Creek lost a 14-1 decision to Dobie for its only game of the week.

Meanwhile, the Lady Eagles shutout Sam Rayburn 11-0 for their only game of the week, which put Atascocita in a tie for third place with Summer Creek.

Atascocita’s London Marder and Katie Cimusz each had two RBIs in the contest.

Kingwood goes 2-0

Kingwood picked up two wins against Sam Rayburn and South Houston to stay in the playoff hunt.

The Lady Mustangs are in fifth place right now, but are a game behind Summer Creek and Atascocita.

Humble earns split last week

The Lady Wildcats defeated South Houston 5-4 with junior pitcher Samantha Umfrid delivering 16 strikeouts. In its second game of the week Humble was run ruled by Pasadena Memorial 12-0.

Kingwood Park near the top of District 20-5A standings

Kingwood Park picked up a big win last week by defeating the No. 1 team in District Lake Creek 6-1 last Friday.

The Lady Panthers also picked up a win on the road against Caney Creek with a 5-1 victory.

K-Park is a half game behind Lake Creek to take over the top spot in district.
