Lorain City Schools investigating ‘vague’ threat on Snapchat to disrupt class on Friday

LORAIN, Ohio -- Lorain City Schools and Lorain police are investigating a threat made on social media to disrupt class on Friday, according to a press release from Lorain City Schools.

An unknown person made a threatening post on Snapchat, Lorain City Schools spokeswoman Sarah Egan-Reeves said Thursday.

“The post made was vague and did not mention any particular school, but did state the individual who made the threat planned to disrupt class on Friday,” Egan-Reeves said.

The district is taking the threat seriously and is “taking every necessary measure to assure the safety of scholars and staff at each of our 14 buildings,” Egan-Reeves said.

The Lorain Police Department asks anyone with information about the post or the person responsible to text 440-204-2555.
