MLS Cup Returns to Carson

CARSON, Calif. (AP) _ Major League Soccer’s championship game will be played at the Home Depot Center on Nov. 14.

League commissioner Don Garber said Wednesday the MLS Cup will be played in Carson for the second consecutive year. The San Jose Earthquakes defeated the Chicago Fire 4-2 last year.

The Home Depot Center, which opened in June 2003, also played host to the Women’s World Cup and the MLS All-Star Game.

Capacity at the stadium is 27,000.

Previous MLS Cups have been played in Foxboro, Mass. (1996, ’99 and 2002); Washington (1997, 2000); Pasadena, Calif. (1998); and Columbus, Ohio (2001).
