LCCF Corporal Charged With Assault, Placed On Leave

September 27, 2018

A corporal at Luzerne County Correctional Facility has been placed on unpaid leave after he was charged with domestic assault last weekend.

Rice Twp. police charged Bradley Mrochko, 47, with a misdemeanor count of simple assault and a summary count of harassment on Saturday, according to court records.

Mrochko, of Mountain Top, was placed on unpaid administrative leave this week, county Manager David Pedri said Wednesday.

Pedri confirmed that Mrochko is a corporal at the county jail, but declined to comment further, noting it is a personnel issue.

Mrochko was arraigned Sunday morning before Magisterial District Judge Daniel O’Donnell. He is free on non-monetary bail, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 4 before Magisterial District Judge Ferris Webby Sr.

Mrochko’s only previous criminal history in Pennsylvania was a DUI charge in Hanover Twp. in March 2005, according to court records.
