Quakers (Religious Society of Friends) will hold services Sunday, Sept. 2, at 2850 Martingale Lane. Worship in silence begins at 10 a.m., followed by refreshments and Second Hour Discussion. Lakeside Baptist Church, 4280 Jefferson Davis Highway, Beech Island, will hold its CSRA 9/11 Honor Service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9. The service will thank the dedicated members of EMS, Fire, Medical, Rescue, Police, Sheriff’s Office, Security, emergency room staff and DMV personnel who serve the community. This year’s service also will recognize the departments and families of local responders who have passed away. All agencies also are invited to display lifesaving equipment. Equipment should arrive by 9:30 a.m. and be in place by 10:15 a.m. Childcare facilities for infants to 5K are available, and a special program will be held for children in grades 1-5.
