Food bank gets $50,000 for new cold storage unit in facility
HAMPDEN, Maine (AP) — A Maine food bank has been awarded a $50,000 grant, which will go toward the purchase of a cold storage unit.
The Good Shepherd Food Bank in Hampden announced Wednesday that the Tramuto Foundation of Ogunquit awarded the grant. WABI-TV reports the money will support the purchase of the new unit in their new facility in Hampden.
Good Shepherd says its goal is to make sure every Maine resident has access to food by 2025.
Donato Tramuto says they love the food bank’s aspirational goals and constant work to make the world a better place.
Last year, the food bank distributed more than 28 million pounds of food to partner organizations.
