LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Police have identified the 25-year-old man who died after a four-story fall from the roof of a Lowell apartment building.

The man was apparently socializing with friends at about 5 a.m. Sunday on the roof of a building at the Boott Mills apartments.

The Lowell Sun reports the man has been identified as David Kendricken, who was a resident of the building and accessed the roof by climbing a fire escape from his kitchen window.

Police Captain Tim Crowley said the fall appears to have been a tragic accident.

It was also not clear if alcohol was involved.
