Rib Injury Sidelines Lions’ Batch

December 1, 2000

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Detroit quarterback Charlie Batch left the Lions’ game against Minnesota on Thursday night after re-aggravating a rib injury.

Batch was injured last week against New England.

Lions cornerback Bryant Westbrook also left the game early in the first quarter because of a bruised left Achilles’ tendon.

Safety Kurt Schulz did not play because of an ankle injury, leaving the Lions without two of the NFL leaders in interceptions. Schulz is tied for first, with seven interceptions, and Westbrook is tied for third, with six.
