Parents Offer House in Return for Info on Daughter’s Killer
CARROLLTON, T (AP) _ A couple is offering a $50,000 house as a reward for information leading to a conviction in their 22-year-old daughter’s slaying.
Terrina ″Jade″ Chivers was killed in her North Dallas apartment on Aug. 13, 1989. She had been beaten and suffered eight to 10 stab wounds on her face and neck.
After spending $80,000 tracing leads with the help of a private investigator, Tom and Lori Chivers have identified the man they believe killed their daughter. But none of the evidence has been enough for an arrest, police said.
The Chivers are now offering a piece of rental property they own in Carrollton to entice potential witnesses into coming forward.
″We’ve spent everything we could get our hands on to try and find out who did this,″ Mrs. Chivers said. ″It is our greatest hope that if they know the house is available, they’ll talk and tell us what they know.″
