2 arrested in fatal Blackstone shooting
UXBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Two men have been charged in the killing of a man in Blackstone last week.
William Hodges and Brendan Bates, both of Milford, pleaded not guilty to murder and misleading a police investigation at their arraignment Monday in Uxbridge District Court. They’re accused of shooting 33-year-old Kevin Gonsalves, also of Milford.
The two were ordered held without bail. Their next court date is in January.
Gonsalves was shot multiple times around 7:30 p.m. Friday, in the driveway of a Blackstone residence.
Police say the men drove Gonsalves to the home under the guise of robbing a drug dealer. Instead, Hodges shot him in the head and chest over what officials say was a dispute.
The two men were arrested Sunday. A handgun allegedly used in the shooting was recovered Monday.
