Oh, Deer! He’ll Keep You Moving
By Sally Cragin
Say “G’day Mate” to Deer, an Australian Blue Heeler mix currently at Second Chance Animal Services. He’s just over 2 years old and would do well with a family or just one person.
The original “Blue Heeler” breed originated in 1840, when an Australian breeder mixed a native dingo, or wild dog, with collies and other herding dogs. These “cattle dogs” need to be active and are highly independent.
Deer will have you off the couch this winter and help you get outdoor exercise. This is a dog with a lot of dignity that will definitely encourage you to “throw another shrimp on the barbie” once the weather warms up again.
