Man gets 18 years in prison for sexually abusing girls
GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) — A Gresham man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing two girls in 2013.
KATU-TV reports 31-year-old Tyler Wilkerson pleaded no contest and was found guilty of nine counts of first-degree sexual abuse, six counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of second-degree attempted rape.
He was sentenced Tuesday.
According to Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill, Wilkerson was a friend of the victims’ mother at the time of the assaults.
Prosecutors say he abused the sisters over a two-month period when he was staying with the family.
The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the case in April 2017 after one of the victims disclosed she had been sexually abused.
