January 11, 2019

MATISUN SKIRVIN — GIRLS BASKETBALL

Playing in her first game back from injury, Lake Havasu guard Matisun Skirvin paced the girls basketball team to its third victory of the season, a resounding victory against River Valley on Monday night.

Skirvin, a junior, scored 20 points to lead the Knights in the victory, serving as a ball handler and main shooting threat despite coming off the bench. In her follow up, she had a team-high nine points in a loss at Yuma Gila Ridge.

KENDRA PARK — GIRLS SOCCER

A regular in this spot, Kendra Park carried her team to victory on Tuesday, scoring all four goals in a 4-3 victory over rival Kingman Lee Williams at Lee Barnes Stadium.

The Vols had gotten the best of Havasu twice this season, and looked to be in a good place to do so again, scoring a pair of quick goals in the second half to take a 3-2 lead.

Enter Park, who despite being shadowed by two players was able to break free for an equalizer just minutes later and the game-winner with 3:30 to play.
