One injured after shooting incident in Warrenville

One person has been injured and taken to a hospital after a shooting this morning in Warrenville, according to a news release by Capt. Eric Abdullah of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a shooting at 5:09 a.m at 172 Keith Drive in Warrenville, according to the release.

Upon arrival, deputies found the owner of the home injured from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was subsequently transported to a hospital where his condition is currently unknown.

Investigators are currently working to gather further information on the incident, which was initially reported as a possible drive-by shooting by witnesses.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the identity of the victim of this time, according to Abdullah.

Anyone with information potentially relating to the shooting can submit tips anonymously through Midlands Crime Stoppers, according to the release. Tipsters could be eligible for a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest by calling 1-888-CRIME-SC.
