Tucson man jailed for 6th unlicensed contractor conviction
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A Tucson man convicted for unlicensed contracting for the sixth time has been sentenced to jail.
The Arizona Registrar of Contractors announced the latest penalties Wednesday against 42-year-old Lino Silva Jr.
He also was fined $2,000 and ordered to repay more than $5,000 to two homeowners who paid upfront for landscaping and home repairs that were never done.
Silva already had four similar convictions on his record when he pleaded guilty last week to incidents in 2016 and 2018.
He’s scheduled to report to jail on May 17, but he will only have to serve five days of his 30-day jail term.
The other 25 days have been suspended.
